The Anderson Family
Hi Cynthia!
Here's a quick update...
Cody is such a happy dog these days.
He has not bitten or even attempted to bite ANYONE since our training (it's been about a year!). I honestly can't remember the last time he showed his teeth in a vicious way, and he used to do this as well as snap at me when he was unhappy on a daily basis. I was definitely at my end with him, but I knew that it was my responsibility to help him. The training was tough, I won't lie, but he was worth it. I think the key things for us is discipline and exercise. Those two things make him a happy dog.
I just looked back at the rules you asked me to make and it made me feel really good.
He does not pull on the leash at all - I still use the pinch collar but mainly just for long walks/jogs. This collar has got to be the greatest turning point for us (and greatest invention as far as I am concerned!).
He stays out of the kitchen.
He has stopped biting/growling/snapping completely which was my biggest issue.
He sometimes jumps on furniture and people but will listen when asked. I have become more lenient, which I am not proud of, but I think it was a little expected. I may need to come by for some refresher courses.
The training was a real confidence booster for both of us!
Thank you for everything!
Jill Anderson
